In order to meet the 2023 targets, the South East Energy Agency audits the local authority buildings and energy consumption across the 3 main energy types:

• Electricity
• Thermal
• Transport

Once the energy use is understood and monitored, energy and carbon reduction projects can be identified and implemented. Energy and fuel data is monitored and tracked annually and submitted to SEAI as part of the mandatory Monitoring & Reporting programme. This data was used to create the Gap to Target for the 4 LA’s; that is where is the Local Authority starting from (baseline) and where do we need to be by 2030.
